Healing at a Cellular Level
A sound bath is a form of meditation in which a person (or a group!) experiences sound waves generated by bells, chimes, gongs or, as I use, alchemy crystal singing bowls.
Everything in the universe is in a constant state of vibration, including our bodies.
“If we accept that sound is a vibration and we know that vibration touches every part of our physical being, then we understand that sound is heard not only through our ears but through every cell in our bodies.
One reason sound heals on a physical level is that it deeply touches and transforms us on the emotional and spiritual planes. Sound can redress imbalances on every level of physiological functioning and can play a positive role in the treatment of virtually any mental disorder”
Director of Oncology and Interactive Medicine
What is Sound Healing?
The therapeutic benefits of sound date back to prehistoric times when shamans would use chanting, drumming and rattles to remove negative stuck energy that changes the resonance of the energy body causing disease. Since then, people have been using sound to treat physical and psychological issues.
The use of sound as therapy is linked to the release of hormones and neurochemicals to restore ease, using the harmonic factor on a cellular level to restore balance. In a sound therapy session, I have found that it can affect physiological parameters including breathing, heart rate and neuron muscular tone, blood pressures ME, CFS, Fibromyalgia, plus many more conditions.
Sound Therapy is the oldest therapy known to mankind and despite its suppression since the 18th century in favour of a more scientific approach which disregarded this well-established natural practice, in favour of commercially lucrative western medicine.
Sound can be used as therapy and is in fact already an incredibly powerful tool already and used in both mainstream medical practices, such as ultrasound, as well as complementary therapies.
Think about how sound affects our everyday lives, not just music, but also non-musical sounds that can have a powerful impact on our physical, psychological, and emotional state of well-being.
Regular Sound Bath Events
I run regular sound bath events at locations in Cheshire and Manchester. Usually on a monthly basis. Join my newsletter which details all upcoming events.
During your treatment, I play an array of Alchemy Crystal Bowls. Each bowl is handmade and has a frequency or note attached to it that works in line with our energy field or chakra system. It is a deeply relaxing and profoundly therapeutic experience, as it shifts and harmonises your vibrational frequencies at an atomic level. The soundwaves and frequencies from the bowls have a scientific measurable and emotional impact on both your physical and emotional well-being.
Visit the tranquil Glebe Farm in Congleton, home to The Yoga Tree studio for a monthly sound bath Sunday evening 7 pm. Exchange £20.00
