I am now back at work after a long break! Now 3 weeks in, it’s been so lovely to see so many clients and a massive thank you for your understanding in my new way of working.

For many during the lockdown, it was a time of added stress with working from home, homeschooling combined with not being able to escape to the pub or see close family and friends! If you were lucky you might have been incredibly chilled!

During the lockdown period, I began to look at ways that I can help with stress that would not involve touch but would still make a massive impact. For a long time now I have been going to sound healing both in a group (which obviously I wasn’t able to attend ) and also 1:1.

Sound healing isn’t anything actually new… Sound healing is one of the oldest forms of healing known to mankind and has been used the world over to invoke, attune and transform consciousness. Sound dates back to prehistoric times when Shaman would use sound when chanting and drumming to heal people, it produces powerful vibrations and as we are vibrational beings by nature our very structure is transformed by its movement.

I use primarily Alchemy Crystal bowls that create a sound personal to you with vibrations and notes not to mention the crystals that work with your body. The deeply relaxing state that you feel will help your nervous system not to mention stress! (see testimonials)

So I hear you ask yourself what is that got to do with bowels??!

Do you know that term gut feeling? Well, it explains a lot about the digestive system and gut health. It is after all your second brain.

Serotonin is known as the happy drug as it affects your mood is produced in the gut. But not only that your digestive system is responsible for the absorption of nutrients, lymphatic function, the immune system, and elimination, so when any of these functions are off, your whole system will feel out of sync. Because every organ, bone and cell in our bodies has a resonant frequency, when our bodies feel sluggish, uninspired of unhealthy sound can rest and retune these subtle energy fields.

What I discovered after 16 years of being a colon hydrotherapist is that so many of my clients come into my clinic with digestive complaints and are looking for ways to promote a healthier gut. It is almost a pandemic!  A big part of this is our stress levels being at an all-time high, which can lead to lower nutrient levels, overuse of medication and heavy metal exposure. This can weaken the gut lining, coupled with poor food choices such as the overconsumption of sugar, food additives, white flour products, processed foods and refined carbohydrates, not to mention the lack of nutrients in the soil due to the farming industry! The pressure that is put upon farmers to turn around food quicker so it’s forced to grow, then add in there all the pesticides that are used as well.

It is key to identify and remove any toxins that might be upsetting the digestive system as they can most certainly be the host of a load of issues that will not only affect the digestive system but also your skin and other parts of your body. These toxins can contribute to a host of problems and although you can add nutrients in to alleviate symptoms, the toxins also need to be removed which is why I run a 21 purify your microbiome programme.

The biggest thing that I explain to my clients is that the digestive system is also linked to a large energy centre known as the Solar Plexus chakra. So this might sound a bit woo woo but it is associated with ego or self-identity. It is the seed of your own personal power and controls how worthy we feel self-belief and our self-esteem plus of course how we are digesting life in general. This chakra can even become imbalanced in many ways. This is where sound healing can help as the vibrational frequency can shift brain waves, enhance relaxation, creativity, and healing.

There are many ways to balance and strengthen the digestive system. I just put together a few tips below to get you started.

7 ways TO BALANCE THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM AND THE SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA.

The Solar Plexus can be strengthened, even if this issue is rooted in childhood upbringing. Having an aware awareness that it may be imbalanced is a massive factor and of course, you take the steps to go forward.

  1. Exercise

This chakra is all about feeling strong-internally and externally. So, whether it is working out or even just doing Tai Chi, making your body feel strong will help this chakra tremendously. Also, exercise moves digestive fluids which are great for elimination.

  1. Yellow

Surrounding yourself with the colour of this chakra-yellow. You can eat more yellow foods such as squash, yellow pepper and turmeric or you can wear more yellow or buy yellow roses. The colour actually strengthens this energy centre.

  1. Collagen

This is an amazing nutrient that can repair the gut lining, strengthen the nervous system and keep bones strong and healthy. It is also a great source of protein and minerals! I add a scoop to smoothies or even soup. It is often not vegan but if you are vegan there are sources of collagen that are meat-free.

  1. Fermented Foods

Fermented foods such as sauerkraut, kimchi and kefir can boost the body’s probiotics, assist with the immune system and help to curb sugar cravings. I take 1-2 Tbsp of Turmeric Sauerkraut before dinner each night.

  1. Probiotics

Probiotics are key for boosting the beneficial bacteria in the gut. I like Optibac, Just for tummies and Biocare probiotics as they offer particular strains as it’s not all about the number…. They are essential for the immune system as 90% of your immunity is found in your gut.

  1. Fennel, Ginger, Papaya, Pineapple, Digestive Enzymes

Fennel, ginger, papaya and pineapple are helpful for digestion, and I regularly recommend digestive enzymes for an added boost.

  1. Crystals

Citrine is a wonderful crystal for digestion and for the Solar Plexus Chakra. It can ease stomach pain, ulcers, relieve heartburn, stimulate digestion and move negative energy. You can place it on your stomach or intestine area and rest for as long as you feel is needed. Do this for several days. You can also wear it in your pocket or keep it nearby and see similar effects.

So if you are interested in sound healing to have a look a little video that I have done and of course, read my testimonials or why not book in and see for yourself 😊

There will be also some sound baths coming to Manchester in September so if you are interested to let me know and I will make sure you are up to date.

I am holding a sound bath on Wednesday 30th September at Blisslands in Congleton if anyone is interested click here for more details.
