Well I might be known as the Colonics Queen, but as most of you are aware I like to try new things and put myself out of my comfort zone…frequently! So I thought I would make another name for myself – the Queen of Facials!
A few years ago now I tried microneedling (otherwise known as dermarollering). Why on earth would you do that Helen and inflict masses of pain on yourself, I hear you ask! Well, vanity first and foremost, to be honest and secondly curiosity.
I had two facials initially and it wasn’t that painful, but the results were great. My skin looked and felt amazing. I was that impressed that I decided to go off and do the course!
So what do all these facials I perform entail and why would you have them….
The dermaroller is great for boosting new collagen cells and promoting growth factors. It accelerates skin regeneration and increases the product absorption of your skin care. It also improves your skin texture and tones pores, fine lines and wrinkles. The results it achieves are clearer, smoother and brighter skin. It tightens, firms, plumps and hydrates skin and it can improve the appearance of pigmentation and acne scarring.
So this is what I do in my clinic if you came to have one. First I apply a numbing cream onto your face – it takes about 20 minutes to take effect. I then apply a serum to the skin (I use different serums for different skin types) and use a roller with 1mm needles that goes over the skin in little sections. I repeat this 3 times. After this, I place a cooling collagen mask on the face, along with eye gel patches. I leave this on for about 10 to 15 minutes and give you a relaxing scalp massage. After that I then apply the appropriate facial creams. It takes about 28 days to start seeing the results. Depending on the reason for having a dermaroller facial, I may recommended that you have a course of them, especially if you have a lot of acne scarring.
As part of my course I also qualified to perform glycolic peels. Please don’t think I start shedding skin like a snake here by the way! It’s a very gentle way of rejuvenating, refreshing, resurfacing and restoring the skin, with no downtime, no peeling or irritation.
The other facial treatment I offer is mesotherapy where you gently apply on the skin a serum. I tend to do both the glycolic peel and mesotherapy together for the ultimate facial and I find I get great results, perfect for before a night out!
So there you go. It certainly makes a change from seeing the bottom end!
For more information by all means, have a look at the facial treatments in more detail HERE – but for great facial results I think the Queen of Facials treatments speak for themselves.
